Murder Club

An example of the disturbing and twisted dreams I have.
The trigger for it (pun intended) was the TV show Sugar the evening before where the Colin Farrell character goes to a fight club.
My dream did not question how the place is kept secret from the cops. Probably can’t. Possibly exists in a future anarchist society.

Murder Club is a place where people wanting to commit murder, or be murdered, convene.

It is a large basement with furnishings, and an open bar. Like a sparse speakeasy.

Nobody knows each other. Conversations are few and brief.

Everyone is either moody, morose, eccentric or disturbed. Numbers vary. Often it is empty. Sometimes there are a dozen or two folk, seemingly word gets out that it is getting interesting.

It is more akin to an antique auction than a fight club. People wander around, sussing each other out, getting a feel for them, nervously considering whether this will be a defining moment in your life, or maybe a final moment.

Murders are actually quite rare. Maybe every few weeks, after hundreds of people have visited. Protocol after the fact is simple. Everyone leaves and none of them ever return.

Magic abounds, spells are cast, tarot readers make a killing (pun intended) at great personal risk. Amulets and objects are handed around, traded. Random people kiss each other and occasionally have romp behind the chaise lounge.

Read The Etched City to get the mood.
