When it is released it will be multitudes.
Its evil will be wide-spread and variable.
The opening scene is a battle between a giant sea monster and a whaling ship, in the Arctic. The monster cries “tell me his name” and the captain yells back No!
They fight and then we are in the modern era. A history geek gets the opportunity (exciting for him) to hang out somewhere really cold and look for remnants of a lost ship.
Within that drudgery he actually finds some remnants, and a cave where it has been scratched His Name Is Edwyn Smythe.
Our geek researches that name and finds a rare book that says:
When it is released it will be multitudes.
Its evil will be wide-spread and variable.
And just before that, the book says that to release the evil being certain words need to be joined together.
In their obscure language, those words, the capitals of each of them, spell GhtWazBaz
Our geek decides to keep an eye out for an evil spreading and variable. He uses lots of computers and many staff.
He finds in the news a story about some Aussies playing pool and then it all went sideways.
Backtrack a week and there is a pub where people wanting to play pool put their name up on chalk on the board. Typically the names are nicknames, initials and abbreviations, barely more than 6-7 characters long.
Tonight 3 men add their name to the board in sequence. Wright, Waz & Baz.
Since the evil being has been imprisoned, it has waited for that sequence of characters to be written down. It is unleashed and takes over the souls and bodies of two dozen men.
